Title: Informatica developer

This person will be working independently with our business partners. They must be able to accurately translate business requirements into ETL designs and ETL development, with little oversight. The main development tool is Informatica 8.1. Preference will be given to developers with health care insurance and data warehouse experience.
Provides technical expertise and direction in developing and supporting system-level programs, interfacing with customers on requirements. The individual in this position participates in all phases of the data warehouse development cycle. The incumbent is responsible for production support and maintenance of the data warehouse, and works with the team on system performance optimization and interoperability issues.
Experience * 10+ years of Informatica experience.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline * Typically seven or more years of experience in systems development and programming * Familiarity with line-of-business legacy systems * Experience as a team member on project teams in a cross-functional environment * Experience in design and implementation of data warehouse required
Responsibilities * Code extract and summarization routines * Code, test, and implement complex programs; develop appropriate programs and systems documentation according to established IT standards * Lead the support and troubleshooting of production systems as required, optimizing performance, resolving production problems, and providing timely follow-up on problem reports * Plan, schedule, and conduct decision support system tests; monitor test results; and take required corrective action * Develop restructure process routines; create index and view scripts * Interface with customers to determine requirements * Aid in systems development planning and monitoring * Provide technical direction and training to other IT personnel * Provide technical consultation in new systems development, new package system evaluations, and enhancement of existing systems; participate in structured walkthroughs and technical reviews
Skills and Knowledge * Knowledge of extract tools (e.g., Informatica, ETL), 3GLs, 4GLs, SQL, PL/SQL, ProC, etc. * Strong knowledge and understanding of structured analysis and technical design techniques * Some knowledge of database management and file access methods is desirable; experience in online analytical processing (OLAP) is a strong plus * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills * Solid project management skills in planning and monitoring projects in a cross-functional environment * Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs * Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the enterprise analytics team's knowledge of and concern for customers' business needs * Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: RAD/JAD, client/server, Unix, C, C++, CASE, RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, Sybase), GUIs (e.g., PowerBuilder), Windows NT, system management tools
Working Relationships Internal: * Reports to project manager/ Data Warehouse Architect and/or department manager * Has close working relationship with the enterprise analytics back-end processing team and peers in other areas of IT, specifically DBAs
